A little bit about me
Robyn Meletis, Founder, Monomyth Studios
One of the most humbling lessons my husband and I have learned as parents is this: your love, your wisdom, your effort, no matter how sincere, do not always reach your teenager.
Not because they do not care. But because they are becoming. And part of growing into themselves means pulling away from the voices they know best, even ours.
That is not failure. That is biology.
In that space between child and young adult, something powerful is needed: mentorship. Not more information, but trusted guidance. Someone outside the emotional choreography of family.
Someone who sees them as they are, and believes in who they can become.
Our sons are athletes. We have seen the impact outside voices can have. But not every coach is a mentor. Titles do not build trust. And exposure alone does not shape character.
That was the gap I saw, first in our home, then everywhere I turned.
Monomyth Studios wasn’t created to extend our home education model. It was created to fill that gap. A mentorship studio for families like ours, deeply engaged, still learning, and wanting more than survival.
Families who seek voices beyond their own. Families raising teens to think independently, lead with integrity, and grow into strong, self-aware adults.
Before Monomyth, I worked in the litigation consulting field and served as a federal criminal investigator.
I trained at the DEA Academy in Quantico, Virginia, and hold a master’s degree. But my greatest learning came not from credentials, but from experience.
I struggled as a student. I know how hard learning feels when it’s disconnected from confidence or purpose. What changed me was being put into high-stakes environments where what I knew had to work, under pressure, in motion, for real.
That shaped how I lead now. Because learning sticks when it connects to purpose. When it matters.
But nothing has shaped me more than raising two teenage sons in a world that rarely pauses for what is real. That’s where I learned the difference between being smart and thinking clearly.
And it was in that moment of wrestling, reflecting, and rebuilding that I discovered the work of Joseph Campbell, and the timeless structure of the hero’s journey, aka, the monomyth.
It gave language to what I had felt all along: that growth is not a straight line. It is a calling. A departure. A struggle. A transformation.
Monomyth Studios is built on that belief.
This is not a curriculum. It is a mission. A studio for mentorship, clarity, and challenge, for families who want more than checklists, and for teens who are ready to answer the call to become who they are.
My role is not to replace yours. It’s to reinforce it, with the right voices, at the right time, in service of the journey ahead.
I built it because I needed it.
Now I’m building it for you.
Monomyth Studios takes its name from the heroic arc we all walk. We believe every teen is on their own path, and with the right guidance, they will rise.
Every great adventure begins with a call.
You’re enroute.
Welcome to Monomyth.
